Painting a cat in the wild in a mysterious location over a period of time, I had nearly finished and the wild cat had taken on a definite form and personality.I felt it was near completion but could not identify exactly what kind of cat it was that I was painting…It was not really a cheetah. No was it a jaguar, but I knew it was a beautiful wild cat that existed somewhere … and embraced it. And then the news came that a new species of feline had been discovered in the Bolivian jungle; tiny but beautiful, of the species Leopardis, as is my mysterious wildcat surrounded by an idyllic golden jungle framed with modern chaos on both sides. The canvases all together are 8 feet wide, 36 inches tall , and are painted with oils and gold leaf.Â
